| Description: | When Hispanic traders forged the Old Spanish Trail between Santa Fe and Los Angeles in 1829, they created the first successful Hispano trading effort to connect the Mexican frontier provinces of New Mexico and California. The trail evolved from a series of routes used earlier by indigenous people that crossed what are now the states of New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, Nevada and California. | ||||||||||
