Description:

George Winston, best known for his melodic rural folk piano style, acknowledges that his main piano influences are the great New Orleans R&B pianists. "Gulf Coast Blues & Impressions" was inspired by his desire to support the Gulf Coast after the hurricane devastation. It features 6 Winston compositions and pieces written by or influenced by 6 New Orleans pianists: Henry Butler, James Booker, Professor Longhair, Dr. John, Allen Toussaint & Jon Cleary. All artist proceeds go to relief efforts.
