Heidi Loewen is an internationally known porcelain artist and teacher. She was selected to teach the acclaimed Italian chef, Giada De Laurentiis to throw while she ate her way through Santa Fe for her TV series, "Giada's Weekend Getaways." Giada had never thrown clay on the wheel and she had a ball. Everybody is a success as one of Heidi's clay students in her private classes.

All ages are invited. No previous clay or art experience is necessary. The only requirement is a good sense of humor!

Heidi prepares and "centers" the clay on the wheel for each student. Then she demonstrates. Students get to design on all the demo pieces and keep them as well. Heidi teaches lots of great fun techniques. Students may even toss the bowls up in the air and create fabulous designs with sneaker impressions on the clay. They may create whatever they like!

Students may incorporate hand building, sculptural or any wild decorative idea in her suny, tidy, colorful gallery and studio. The admosphere promotes great creativity. There are no limits in Heidi's space! So long as they have fun and laugh.

As much clay as needed is provided, as well as snacks, drinks, aprons and all the tools. Classes may be for one hour, or an entire week. Students may choose whatever color glazes they like for thier porcelain masterpieces. Heidi can take care of the glazing.

Classes may be mornings, afternoons, evenings—even weekends. It is just one minute down the road from the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum.

Many students have written testimonials that their clay class was by far the most fun activity they did during their trip to Santa Fe!

These classes are given rain, shine or snow, all year round.
