Santa Fe Ranked Number 1 in Number of Arts Businesses per Capita

Arts lovers, here’s something to celebrate: you’re living in the greatest area in the country. Recent census information released by Americans for the Arts shows that, in a list of 276 U.S. Metropolitan areas, Santa Fe was ranked first in the number of arts businesses per 1,000 residents, with a total of 6.29. In second place was Bellingham, WA with 3.89 arts businesses per 1,000 residents. New York, encompassing Northern New Jersey, Long Island, NY, Connecticut and Pennsylvania, was 24th on the list. And Albuquerque is no “arts slouch” either – ranked 29th, with more than 2.5 arts businesses per 1,000 residents. That puts Albuquerque ahead of cities such as Colorado Springs, (36); Boston, MA, (44); Salt Lake City, UT, (50), and Las Vegas, NV, (54). Want to find out more?
