Downloading a Video Player

The RealPlayer™ and QuickTime® players are free programs you can install on your computer that allow you to listen to or watch compressed audio and video files over the Internet. Even if you have never downloaded anything, it is quite simple to do.

Note: Some newer browsers/computers  have RealPlayer™ already installed.

The Windows Media Player comes free installed on Microsoft Windows systems. You can download it for FREE for Windows OR Macintosh here.

Printing out this page before you go to the download site will make it easy for you to follow the instructions.

Step 1. Go to the RealAudio® or QuickTime® download site. (A new browser window will open.)

Scroll down the page until you see the link to download the free player and click on it.

Once you are there, you will be asked to answer a few questions via a form. Once you fill out the form, click the "Download Now" button. You will be prompted to select a directory on your hard drive to place the file. Once you do this, the file will download to your hard drive.

Step 2. Install the Player. You will have to close your Internet connection and all programs that are open. On the PC, through My Computer, or from your desktop on a Mac, find the file that you downloaded. Double-click on the file. This will start the install process.

Step 3. Try the Player. Reconnect to the Internet and return to the
