Fine Arts for Children & Teens (FACT) is a 17-year-old nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower and transform lives by teaching art-making, literacy and life skills in an innovative learning environment. FACT serves more than 4,300 young people ages 6-18 in northern New Mexico. FACT's 20+ program sites include classes at the FACT ARTbarn studio in Santa Fe, public elementary schools, a juvenile detention center, and community centers in Rio Arriba, San Miguel, and Santa Fe counties. FACT teaches every student to see him or herself as a capable, intelligent, and creative person. By experimenting without fear of being judged, and discussing choices with others in a supportive environment, students see new possibilities in their lives and gain the self-confidence to follow through on their ideas. In short, FACT changes lives.
